On page 9 of The Allyn & Bacon Guide to Writing, i found it interesting how there are forms of writing for this particular subject and don't fully understand what the distinctions between both of them are and how to use them.

On page 12 where the book talks about the subject matter and how a question is always raised to explain the reasoning for the thesis I found it interesting that one would have to answer a question to explain the paper that they are writing. I also found that there are many ways to present a problem to your audience.

On page 30 of chapter 2, I also found that students are being required to think and put different things together to make an opinion or to think critically. The professors are trying to make us look deeper into the material and make good judgments from those.

On page 35 I found the idea map. This caught my attention because I never thought i would be using these as much as I am in college right now. This strategy helps me a lot to put random facts and thoughts together to make a final paper or speech. This is a great tool to help students put together good productive statements and make more sense of what they are trying to relay to their audience.
