School parent steals from school

A school parent is to appear in court today around nine in the morning for stealing money from the Withrow Boosters. Cincinnati police say she stole thousands of dollars from the school. Angela Harvey, 40, stole the amount of $6,286.89 from the Withrow Boosters by using a debit card to make personal purchases and other purchases that were not school related and was caught doing this from around july 2007 to december of 2007. The purchases were beyond her authority and were for personal needs stated by the court records. Why would a lady need to steal from her own kids' school. that is the lowest of the low for stealing. All she really was doing was stealing from the kids and the other parents from the school.

Fatal crash closes I-75

Late Monday night a one car accident closed I-75 from the Ohio river to Ezzard Charles drive. a woman who was driving erratically lost control while heading north while under the sixth street viaduct. the car went airborne and hit an embankment while ending up on its top on the sixth street ramp. the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. police closed I-75 on the Brent Spence bridge til late Monday. this is just another case of people not just women driving too fast and trying to make themselves seem like they are the only people on the road. people just need to slow down and make the right decisions and leave on time so that they aren't in a big hurry to go somewhere.

Mother senteced for letting boyfriend beat her son to death

A mother is charged in child endangering for letting her seven year old son be fatally beat to death by her boyfriend. this behavior has been going on for months and has lead to this fatal blow the other day. Latina Stallworth, is scheduled to appear in court today for this crime. thanks to her testimony, her boyfriend Fred Johnson was convicted of felonious murder earlier this month for the death that was committed in 2006. prosecutors said that Johnson hit Milton in the head delivering ultimately fatal blows to the young kid while he was teaching him how to read. This kind of behavior is stupid and it shows what kind of people they are. but it isn't all their fault since they don't know any better because that is how they were raised.

Bearcats Find Some Good in Loss

Today was the first day that UC head coach Mick Cronin said anything positive about losing to UConn the other night. He said that they learned much more about themselves and know now that they cannot let down in any game no matter the opponent. He also says that the foul committed at the end of the game by Bishop was not the deciding point of the game. Cronin says that the game was decided by much more than one foul and by many more than just one person. The game to him showed that the bearcats can hang with anybody but they just need to play the whole game and not just 35 minutes. The game as noted earlier was not decided by one person but by everybody since it is a team sport and they all take the blame for what happened. but the team is still young.

Man robs himself of his manhood

While robbing a store on tuesday, a man accidentally shoots himself. Police say that that the man went into the store and asked for all the cash and a pack of ciggarettes. Police say that when the clerk was turning around after giving the man the cash and was getting the pack of cigarettes, the clerk herd a gunshot. The man had shot himself when he was putting the gun in his pants. Police later found the man in his home with a gunshot wound in his right testicle and right leg. The man went to the hospital and then was booked for robbery and has a 100,000 dollar bail. The clerk was not injured.

Watch what you put on trailer hitches

In Virginia, a new bill has been made outlawing testicles that are put on trailer hitches. The bill says that it is because of safety. They are afraid that the other drivers would be distracted from driving and will concentrate on the testicles. If caught with these on the back of your traier hitch it is a misdemeanor and you could be fined up to as much as 250.00 dollars. This is not the only bill that has been made by virginia for an offense such as this, three years ago, a bill was made saying that a person could not wear any baggy pants so low that the underwear was showin in public. I think that state legislatures are going overboard with things like this. pretty soon they will end up saying that you can't say a certain word in public because it is offensive to inanimate objects.

Beyond the Front Page

I thought that the video was very intersting in the way a newspaper works. I liked how they showed every part of the paper and how the conducted that part of it. The part in the movie which i liked the most was when they showed us how they put it together and made the different ink pictures and different ways the templates had to be put down just to make one picture. I wonder how much paper they go through a day and how much it costs them for the ink and other necessities they need.

Burial site may influence people's vote

In South Korea, Lee Myung-bak was elected president. Experts from in poonsgoo attributing this win to burial plots from his ancestors. Many of the losing candidates spent much of their time moving the plots of their ancestors to a more favorable location during the election. Having favorable graves is an important predictor of good fortune over in South Korea. This lesson of having your ancestors in a favorable place was learned by the previous president Kim Dae-jung. He lost his first time because his ancestors were not buried in a place that was suffecient enough for him to win. After the election he then moved the sites of his andcestors to a better location and won the next election to become president. So i guess the main thing to do in South Korea is to move your dead ancestors to better places to give you better luck for anything that comes your way. I don't think that moving your dead relatives means a person will have better luck in winning something. I think that this was just coincedence that both of these men won, even after they move a dead person or two.

In December, inmate Michael Polk (serving time for robbery and aggravated assault) filed a federal lawsuit against the Utah Department of Corrections for denying him the right to properly practice his religion, Asatru. According to its teachings, adherents must communicate with ancient Nordic gods (such as Odin, Thor and Heimdal) and for that, it is crucial that they have a Thor's Hammer, a Mead Horn (for drinking Wassail), a drum of wood and boar skin, a "rune staff," and a sword (though Polk graciously said he would accept a cardboard sword). I have to say that this is a very intersting story and that he should not sue the people but should be allowed to practice his religion.

Drug Store Robber Gets Violent

A 39 year old Butler county man is now behind bars after threatening a man in a pharmacy yesterday at a CVS. The robber demanded different perscriptions such as OxyContin and other well known drugs. police say the man was behind the counter when they went inside of the CVS and he had also broken a bottle which police thought he might use as a weapon. The man was apprehended without any conflict between the cops and the suspect. This man is very adicted to these types of drugs and shouldn't have been able to go and do this sort of thing. Now obviously he wouldn't have been able to have somebody look after him but these types of people should be in a type of place to help them with their addiction, not a jail. That will do nothing for this man in the long run.

All The Presidents Men

I thought that this movie really showed what kind of influence teh press had on politics and other types of buisness. It can change the way people are and make them feel as if they are put on teh spot if they happen to make a mistake or in the case of the movie happen to do something wrong. when i saw this movie i didn't really think that it would be as good of a movie and as in depth as it was. they really caught my eye and made it seem as if it was going on right now in front of me. Again this movie was well written and made well.

Teen on trial today in fatal baby beating

Derris Smith is to appear today in court concerning an attack he had on his girlfriend's 18 month old baby. Derris was trying to potty-train the baby when he slammed the head of the baby into the wall in the bathroom they were in. doctors had to try to take part of the skull off of the baby because the brain was swelling. the baby was not saved. County prosecutor Joe Deters's office usually tries to get the death sentence in a case where a child is murdered but since Derris was 17 at the time this happened they will not be able to do that. I think that Derris should have the toughest sentence that can be given to him. There was no reason to do such a thing to a baby that he was trying to potty train. to sentence this person as a minor is stupid because even a person like this knows what is right and what is wrong.

Repeat DUI Offender Sentenced

William Pfeiffer will appear in court today around 8:30 in the morning to find out what kind of a sentence he will recieve for having over five DUI's. William was caught drinking one block away from his home with his headlights off. The officer then found two beer cans in the truck which William was driving. William could face up to seven and a half years in prison for these crimes. I think that William should face up to more years in prison because he has done this more than once. He has committed these offenses five times and should have a bigger consequence for what happened to him and the people that he has endangered while driving under the influence. the courts i think are not giving out strong enough sentences to people who do something more than one and should. this could possibly cut down on the crime and influence people not to commit these offenses again.
