Drug Store Robber Gets Violent

A 39 year old Butler county man is now behind bars after threatening a man in a pharmacy yesterday at a CVS. The robber demanded different perscriptions such as OxyContin and other well known drugs. police say the man was behind the counter when they went inside of the CVS and he had also broken a bottle which police thought he might use as a weapon. The man was apprehended without any conflict between the cops and the suspect. This man is very adicted to these types of drugs and shouldn't have been able to go and do this sort of thing. Now obviously he wouldn't have been able to have somebody look after him but these types of people should be in a type of place to help them with their addiction, not a jail. That will do nothing for this man in the long run.

How was this guy keeping out of prision if he was addicted? Skilled, I must say, but not smart to try and rob a CVS store.

I agree that people addicted to drugs do not belong in prison. Law enforcement needs to find a better way to deal with people that allows them to get their lives back on track. They deserve to be punished, but I think special treatment could go a long way to preventing future drug use.
